Sending and receiving coins with your Moonshot wallet is simple. This guide will walk you through the process of safely transferring coins to other wallets, depositing from external wallets, and managing your transactions with confidence.
You’ll also learn essential tips to avoid common mistakes, such as sending to the wrong network or address, and how to check the status of your transactions.
How to send coins to another wallet from Moonshot
To start, Moonshot operates exclusively on the Solana network, which means all transfers to and from your Moonshot wallet must use Solana-compatible addresses and be sent over the Solana Network.
Sending coins over a different blockchain can result in permanent loss of funds.
When sending tokens to another wallet, you have a few options. For example, if you are sending tokens, such as Wrapped Bitcoin, Wrapped Ethereum, Solana, USDC, or USDT, you can make the transfer using the “crypto” withdrawal method. Steps using the crypto withdrawal method:
Tap on “crypto” from the list of withdrawal methods
Select the coin you want to send from the drop-down at the top of the page
Enter the amount you would like to send and swipe to continue
Paste in the wallet address you want to send to
Confirm and swipe to complete the transfer
Warning: Exchange wallets typically have an address for each asset. Please ensure you are sending to the proper address. i.e., USDC and SOL may have two different addresses
How to send memecoins to another wallet from Moonshot
To transfer memecoins to another wallet, find the coin you want to transfer and tap on the “send” button on the token's page.
Or select the “send” button from your holdings page, and pick what coin you want to transfer in the drop-down at the top of the page. From there, follow these steps:
Enter the amount you want to send and swipe to continue
Tap on the wallet icon on the right side of the search bar to switch to “wallet mode”
Paste in the wallet address you want to send to
Confirm and swipe to complete the transfer
Sending via username
You can also send coins directly to a Moonshot username, which will automatically be deposited into the recipient’s wallet.
To send coins to another Moonshot user with their username:
Tap on the coin you want to send on your holdings page
Enter the amount you wish to send and swipe
Type or paste in the username of the Moonshot user you wish to send to
Confirm and swipe to complete the transfer
Sending coins to exchanges that do not support that coin or over a network that is not Solana may result in permanent loss.
Receiving coins to your Moonshot wallet
To receive coins into your Moonshot wallet, first copy your Moonshot wallet address, found at the top of the page when going to Settings > Export Keys. Paste this address into the external wallet or exchange you’re sending from, and confirm the amount you want to transfer.
Always ensure you’re sending on the Solana network and double-check the address before confirming. Transactions on the blockchain can’t be reversed and may result in permanent loss.
